Dear Parents,

Welcome to 5th grade and the learning community of Klein’s Chameleons! I’m super excited to start this school year with you and your family. I’m also thrilled to be joining Laurel Mountain full-time as I begin my eighth year of teaching. As a long-term substitute teacher last year, I was in awe of the passion, talent, and joy exhibited by students and the staff at LME, and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

Throughout the year, your child will be encouraged to challenge themselves, take risks, and make mistakes. I will embrace each child’s unique talents and interests so that all students know they are valued and supported. Within our safe, nurturing learning environment, students will feel empowered to reach their full potential through effort and perseverance.

A little information about myself. I was born and raised in California

and graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a

bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Law and Society. Teaching is a second

career for me, and I can say without a doubt that I have found my

passion! My certification in education includes Early Childhood-6th

Grade, ESOL (English as a second language), and TAG (talented

and gifted). Prior to moving to Austin, I taught in Florida for seven

years, four years in fourth grade and three years in third grade.

Becoming an educator has been one of the best decisions of my life.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, golfing, lounging in the pool with a good book, playing board and card games, and taking Charlee on long walks.

I look forward to partnering with each Chameleon family and having a successful year of learning, laughing, and making new memories. It's going to be a fabulous year in fifth grade!

Sincerely,

Traycee Klein

My family relocated to Austin the summer of 2016. Texas is the fourth state I’ve lived in, and I absolutely love it here. We feel extremely fortunate to have found this incredible community and excellent school district. My husband and I have been married for twenty wonderful years and we have two amazing children. My daughter (Amanda) will be a senior at Westwood this year, and my son (Tommy) will be a sophomore. The other member of our family is Charlee, a very spoiled Goldendoodle.
